Overall attendance was not as good as expected
2010 convention in Los Angeles!

Budget update
AAJA-NC's is doing well but we will pause doing mixers until we have a stronger membership base and when more members can take advantage of the event.

Fund-raising
Sue proposed some kind of fundraiser to shore up funds and possibly provide a student intern scholarship, possibly something similar to the Founder's Fund. Board decided to postpone any efforts until 2010.

A warm AAJA welcome to Lydia Mulvaney!
Lydia recently moved to the Triangle from the Boston area, working at some smaller papers there and doing freelance work. She got in touch with Sue through the AAJA-NC website.

Students
It's important to start reaching out to the Triangle universities to recruit students to our organization, and re-establish our journalism/communications/Asian American contacts at each of the universities.

Elections
Coming up at the end of October
Results are due to national by November 2

Website
Any ideas about adding content are welcome!

Next general membership meeting
Possibly in November...stay tuned!
