Meeting minutes: April 18, 2009
AAJA-NC’s goal this year is to have @ least 2 events.
1) Summer Mixer w/ TABJ some time in July (before both of our
respective conventions)
2) Student Event in the fall focusing on how the industry is
changing, how to make the web work for you & present ways to
make your job your own -- in an effort to become an invaluable
employee @ your station.
AAJA Convention, Boston, MA
1) Ellen Sung’s proxy @ convention will be Roxanna Haynes, a
reporter for Fox affiliate WGHP in Greensboro.
2) Hotel rates for the convention are now down to $159/night.
Alumni News
1) Meiling Arounnarath is serving as Treasurer for AAJA-ATL.
2) Madison Park is working for the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
3) Tony Yang took a job @ a business journal in the Bay area.
4) Ellen graduates from Duke in May & will join the AAJA-Chicago.

5) Peggy Lim moved to Chapel Hill.
6) Pailin Wedel is organizing a “Media Access Workshop” in
Thailand.
