Meeting Minutes

Meeting minutes: February 19, 2006

-Discussion about how we could get more people involved: Ideas included more social events, being more service-oriented and having tours in the community with the Buddhist center or otherwise, and having more social dinners.

- Mentorship: Right now we have five student ment-ees. Discussion about needing more thorough accounting of what students need. Some of the students we met at the dinner were PR or Ad people, and it seems that we're somewhat lacking in those areas. Discussion also about whether we should look into recruiting high school students and how we can reach out to Duke and N.C. State students. I think Peggy said she could be a liaison for the N.C. State peeps, and Ellen for Duke since she lives close to campus.

- Media Access Workshop: see Peggy and Renee's emails for details! -- main line of discussion was who we should have as panelists, and the time frame for the workshops got hammered out. We also tossed around ideas for cheap local printers for the pamphlet -- Could the N&O do it in house?

- Community link: Might put up links to groups that come to the workshop on the web site.

Our next meeting is March 18, 4:30 pm at Ellen's apartment.
